Summer is here! Get your kids excited about all the warmer season has to offer by making this homemade sunflower sculpture!
Refer to pictures of Vincent van Gogh’s sunflower paintings. These paintings will be the inspiration for the sunflower sculpture.
The sunflower will be created by cutting two brown construction paper circles (the same approximate size), and then taping yellow and orange paper strips on the inside of one brown circle. These will be the petals of the sunflower.
Then, with green construction paper, a cylinder will be made. This will be the stem of the sunflower.
The two brown circles will then we taped or stapled together with the stem piece and the petals sandwiched between the two brown pieces.
Project should be easily accomplished by ages 4 and up with help from a grown-up.
Project should be accomplished in 30 minutes or less.
